Ketchikan Operations Manager

Reports to: General Manager of Alaska Coach Tours
Status: Permanent, Full-Time
Location:  Ketchikan
            
General Function:  Serve as a primary contact and representative of Alaska coach Tours in Ketchikan.  Interface with all aspects of Alaska Coach Tours team to coordinate and manage crew training and performance.  

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all activities and decisions according to the five guiding principles of Alaska Coach Tours:

  2. Alaska Coach Tours - Employee Relations
    • Oversee selection, hiring, training, scheduling, operational and reporting details to maintain a safe, dependable, clean and friendly operation for customers.
    • Maintain positive and open communication as well as oversee training and daily operations of crew in order to achieve high level of readiness and timely delivery of customer service.
  3. Alaska Coach Tours -Operations
    • Prepare and organize facilities and all required equipment to undergo seasonal operations between May and September .
    • Gain working knowledge of the coaches owned and operating by Alaska Coach Tours in order to facilitate safe and dependable operation of vehicles.
    • Oversee and monitor customer experience in the day to day operations to ensure a safe, dependable, clean and enjoyable presentation for all customers.
    • Quickly assess situations and work with team to relay information via proper channels in the event of circumstances out of the norm (tour deviations, passenger incidents or injuries, et.).
    • Be available to provide back-up assistance when needed at any level of operation to ensure a high quality of customer service.
    • Oversee all reporting functions in order to facilitate accurate and timely communication both internally (daily cash reports, incident/injury reports, etc&) and with external regulatory agencies.
    • Work with ACT General Manager to prepare annual operating and capital budget for Ketchikan operations, and work with local team to insure that the operations are within budget.
    • Serve as liaison to keep other ACT management team members informed regarding community level issues and changes which may have an impact on ACT operations and/or sales.  Serve as ACT representative at various community functions as needed.
